{"id":184,"date":"2026-05-30T17:09:13","date_gmt":"2026-05-30T17:09:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/relocationacrossamerica.com\/?p=184"},"modified":"2026-05-30T17:09:13","modified_gmt":"2026-05-30T17:09:13","slug":"trumps-angry-tirade-after-judge-blocks-trump-kennedy-center","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/relocationacrossamerica.com\/?p=184","title":{"rendered":"Trump\u2019s angry tirade after judge blocks \u201cTrump Kennedy Center\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<section>\n<p>President Donald Trump is threatening to hand control of the Kennedy Center back to Congress after a federal judge blocked plans to rename the institution the \u201cTrump Kennedy Center\u201d and prevented the administration from moving forward with a controversial closure for renovations.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/relocationacrossamerica.com\/?p=182\">We\u2019re trapped in \u201cBackrooms\u201d hell<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In a lengthy Truth Social post Friday night, Trump blasted U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper, an Obama appointee, for ruling against the administration\u2019s plans and accused Democrats of caring more about opposing him than preserving the iconic performing arts center.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnless I am free to do what I do better than anyone else, bring this Institution back, physically, financially, and artistically, I have no interest in continuing,\u201d Trump wrote.<\/p>\n<p><span><span><iframe allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" class=\"truthsocial-embed w-full h-full lazy\" data-src=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/116659958155235373\/embed\" style=\"max-width: 100%; border: 0;\" width=\"600\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The president claimed the Kennedy Center suffers from serious structural problems, including \u201crotting beams\u201d and parking areas allegedly at risk of collapse. He argued that renovations could not be completed while the facility remains open and said the administration had hoped to transform the center into \u201cthe Finest Facility of its kind, anywhere in the World.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But much of Trump\u2019s frustration appeared directed at the court\u2019s rejection of efforts to add his name to the institution. It also comes as artists continue to distance themselves from Trump-linked cultural events, including the upcoming Freedom 250 celebration marking America\u2019s 250th anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>Despite Trump\u2019s claims that the center is financially failing and structurally unsafe, the administration\u2019s response to the  was not to pursue an alternative renovation plan.
