FBI Director Kash Patel put the resources of his agency at the disposal of authorities looking into Sen. Lindsey Graham\u2018s death. His boss seems to think that\u2019s a mistake.<\/p>\n

\u201d I know there\u2019s all sorts of conspiracy theories going along, and I don\u2019t think the FBI\u2026 I think the FBI is wasting their time if they\u2019re doing that,\u201d Donald Trump told reporters on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The Republican senator from South Carolina died over the weekend at the age of 71. Graham\u2019s office said his death was likely caused by an \u201caortic dissection,\u201d citing a preliminary report from the Washington, D.C. medical examiner\u2019s office.<\/p>\n

Trump put stock in that early finding and wished that Graham had taken \u201cbetter care of himself.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAt first, I heard it was clogged arteries. Because he did have clogged arteries. He had a problem with that,\u201d he said. \u201cBut what happened is actually something that\u2019s very hard to detect. It was not related to any blockage.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump said that doctors he spoke to said there was \u201cnot much\u201d Graham could have done different. Axios reported that Graham told an associate that he was feeling unwell shortly before his death. When that person urged him to go to the doctor, Graham said that he\u2019d do so after a planned appearance on \u201cMeet the Press.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t die now,\u201d he reportedly joked. \u201cI still need to do the Russia sanctions, get Iran sorted out.\u201d<\/p>\n
